Places to Go
Quarry Ridge Mountain Bike Trail
Has trails of varying degrees of difficulty with a cross country loop as well as downhill and freeride trails. The facility, 2740 Fitchrona Road in Fitchburg, is in the Quarry Ridge Recreational Area just south of Verona Road (U.S. 18-151). The trail has a connection to the adjacent Military Ridge Trail.
Quarry Park
Just a 10 min bike ride down University Ave. behind Whole Foods. A small park with a seemingly infinite amount of trails. Cross-country loops, log rides, jumps, drops. A great place to have fun near campus.
Kettle Moraine State Park
About 40 minutes east of Madison, is a popular destination for mountain bikers with a large amount of trail.
Blue Mounds State Park
40 min. out Verona Road / 151. The largest elevation in the area with a large amount of great cross-country trails. Overlode is fairly smooth, other trails are quite technical in areas.
Cam Rock
Between Cambrige and Rockford, about 20 min away. A large amount of fun trail, as well as the “outback” with many newly built wooden features, bridges, log rides, and jumps.
